This is Moraea robinsoniana in flower, to match its bold foliage it has this large striking flower head which is also then followed by decorative blue fruit. When people refer to wanting an “architectural plant” I am pretty sure they mean soem sort of horrible variegated cordyline which is often sold with that as a tag line, so this is what I would consider to be “archictural”. The leaves are a grey green and the clump fills about to be about 1.2 m wide and high, meaning it is wonderful to plant amoungst other graeses or tufting plants as it will stand out on its own. Moraea also works well mass planted and is very tolerant of dry and shade.
