Sesame Seed flavoured Flax

, ,

This is Linum marginale seeds or fruit, it has a lovely blue flower but I am more drawn to the dried seed pods left on the stalks after flowering.

The seeds are classed as bush tucker and apparently have a similar flavour to sesame seeds and can be consumed in the same manner. This is growing in a fabulous native garden in Wollongong, check out Emma’s blog for more information on Illawarra natives. http://nativeillawarra.blogspot.com.au

Birdbaths designed for birds

Mallee Birdbaths are specifically designed to serve birds. The copper dishes are broad and shallow, allowing birds to land on the edge and walk into the water. The baths are modern, elegant and durable. They are locally made in the Illawarra (NSW, Australia) using materials that will weather well and last decades. For help on which dish to choose, go here.
