Themeda australis or triandra or any of the Themeda species have highly decorative seed heads and a soft weeping habit.

They are wonderful for attracting small birds to your garden as they provide a fantastic source of seed and insects. They also provide nesting habitat for wrens like the Red-Backed Fairy Wren. Plant them on mass as they are found in the bush naturally, in our grasslands that are continually diminishing, or use them as a feature amongst ground covers or a contrast with other grass like plants with differing foliage.

Birdbaths designed for birds

Mallee Birdbaths are specifically designed to serve birds. The copper dishes are broad and shallow, allowing birds to land on the edge and walk into the water. The baths are modern, elegant and durable. They are locally made in the Illawarra (NSW, Australia) using materials that will weather well and last decades. For help on which dish to choose, go here.
