This is a coastal garden located at Maroubra beach which backs onto the park at the south end. It is the most spectacular location, just a stroll out the back gate to the beach. It is actually two residences with the boundary fence removed and the garden has been amalgamated into one.The garden is approximately 7 years old.

The brief for this garden was to create an outdoor living space that was sheltered from the coastal winds and summer sun. The garden is gently sloped so the deck has been dropped to be the same level as the house and serves as a great outdoor play space and entertaining area.

The clients wanted a tropical feel to the garden and for it to be child friendly for their three daughters. It was also important to have a small kitchen garden, which has been located directly off the kitchen in a sheltered sun trap, this area holds some fruit trees and seasonal veggies in raised sleeper beds.

Maroubra is basically a sandhill and the soil is extremely well drained to say the least, plants have been selected for lush foliage and ability to withstand dry and windy conditions.
