Royal National Park

,

This photo was taken on the Forest Way bush walk in the Royal National Park, it show the Cabbage tree (Livistona australis) palms at their best, the Illawarra escarpment is full of these palms also, for me it is a signature of home. This is moist Eucalyptus forest that following a river for most of the way, the palms are coming up new and you can walk through a tunnel of them somewhere on the middle of the bush walk. If you have a large garden and are after the tropical look these palms are the way to go, with the sunshine coming through their fan like leaves you can’t help but feel like you are far from the urban madness.

  1. Great photo. Love the way the light shines in via the back of the leaves

Birdbaths designed for birds

Mallee Birdbaths are specifically designed to serve birds. The copper dishes are broad and shallow, allowing birds to land on the edge and walk into the water. The baths are modern, elegant and durable. They are locally made in the Illawarra (NSW, Australia) using materials that will weather well and last decades. For help on which dish to choose, go here.
